It’s nearly the end of 2022, so many people are thinking of New Year’s resolutions. As usual, some may make theirs to lose weight, exercise more, or live more charitably. If your own is to fix your crooked smile, though, now is a great time to get a head start! Invisalign can do the job very well, and it’s often covered by insurance. As such, treatment would let you use your benefits before they reset. If you’d like to learn more, here’s a summary of the matter from your dentist in Dublin.
What’s Invisalign?
Put simply, Invisalign is an orthodontic treatment that aligns your teeth over time. It relies on sets of clear, plastic trays to move your pearly whites into the proper position.
For the procedure to work, patients must wear the aligners for roughly 22 hours daily over one year. Thankfully, though, this restriction is easy to follow due to the trays being removable and nearly invisible. Plus, your dentist will supervise things to ensure the aligners have the proper effect.
Does Insurance Cover It?
If you have health insurance or dental coverage, either could cover part of Invisalign. As with metal braces, dental plans often pay a pre-set percentage of an orthodontic procedure’s price. (They might also cover up to a set dollar amount.) Therefore, insurance would offer a major discount.
To confirm if your plan covers Invisalign, contact your HR department or ask your insurance provider. On the other hand, feel free to purchase a separate orthodontic policy.
Why to Start Treatment at Year’s End
As it happens, most dental benefits operate on a calendar-year basis. In other words, anything left unused after December 31st will expire. It won’t roll over to the following January but reset.
However, end-of-year Invisalign would let you maximize those benefits. By splitting it between this year and next, you could use your remaining and renewed coverages. That way, your own expenses would greatly decrease. With flexible financing, the aligners get more affordable.
As you can see, these next two months are a great time to start Invisalign. Therefore, take advantage and get treatment from your dentist in Dublin.
