Intraoral Cameras
Instead of continuing to wonder what it is your dentist sees when looking inside your mouth, you can now see for yourself thanks to our intraoral camera. Thhis handheld device has a camera on the end that captures images of your teeth and projects them onto a nearby screen. In turn, you can view the images in real-time so that you can better understand what is happening inside your mouth as well as why certain treatments are important for protecting your oral and overall health.
All-Digital X-Rays
Emitting far less radiation than traditional radiographs, all-digital X-rays are now being used by more and more dental professionals. Apart from their improved safety, these methods of diagnostic equipment produce higher-resolution images for better treatment planning and does not require harsh chemicals or hours spent in a darkroom. Instead, the images can be immediately uploaded and stored for easier retrieval in the future.
Digital Impression System/E4D
E4D CAD/CAM technology makes it possible to create and place customized dental restorations, including beautiful porcelain crowns, in a single visit to our dental office. This means enhanced comfort and convenience for our patients, whose time we know is a valuable commodity.
Unlike the conventional method used to take impressions for the fitting of a crown, our process eliminates the need for messy impression materials and long waits. Instead, we use a digital scanner to capture incredibly detailed images of your dentition from every angle. You simply lie back and relax; there’s no discomfort whatsoever, and the entire process is quick and simple.
This information is used by the E4D-powered software to develop a digital, three-dimensional model that can be assessed and manipulated on a computer screen. The sophisticated software and milling machine work together to fabricate your customized dental restoration right here in our dental office; this means that there’s no need for multiple appointments or temporary crowns while you wait. Within one to two hours, you’ll leave our dental office with your beautiful new restoration in place, looking and feeling better than ever.
The Wand™
Patient comfort and convenience are of utmost concern, so we are proud to have integrated the Wand into our dental office. CompuDent, which is the brain behind the Wand, is a computerized local anesthesia delivery unit. The Wand is the pen-like handpiece that administers the anesthesia.
Oral ID Oral Cancer Screening
The Oral ID examination will allow us to visualize any oral mucosal abnormalities including dysplasia (pre-cancer) before they can be detected with the naked eye. The procedure is quick and painless, and no rinses or dyes are used.
The Oral ID is a handheld device that looks like a small flashlight. It can be used alongside our visual oral cancer exam to screen for any soft tissue abnormalities in the gums, tongue, the inner lining of the cheek, and other surfaces within the oral cavity. It uses a specific light wavelength that reflects a green color off of healthy tissue but appears dark for abnormal tissue.
